Tidal wave of OnePlus orders brings sales to a halt

PanARMENIAN.Net - When it comes to smartphones, Apple is experiencing slumping figures of the iPhone while Samsung is hoping to redefine the phablet with the recent launch of its Galaxy Note 7.

Another competitor though, OnePlus, is making waves with its recent introduction. In fact, its popularity has been so surprising, a tidal wave of orders has brought sales to a halt - for real, Digital Spy said.

Carl Pei, the company co-founder, explained the decision in a blog post, saying: "You might have noticed that when you place an order for the OnePlus 3, the estimated shipping date kept getting longer as time went by.

"The reason for this is simple. We were confident in the OnePlus 3 when it launched, but sales in mainland Europe have been way better than what we expected. Therefore, we've decided to temporarily pause sales in some countries in order to give inventory time to replenish."

While this is obviously great news for the company, those out there looking to nab a OnePlus 3 are almost certainly going to be left disappointed, Digital Spy said.

Thankfully, though, the move won't affect every country. As the company explains, the handset will be unavailable between August 9 and September 12 in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.

If you're one of the smorgasbord of countries hit by the pause, there will be an in-stock notification service on the official web store so you can avoid having to check back, Digital Spy said.
